Electronics Engineering is a branch of electrical engineering. It deals with the design and application of circuitry and equipment. It is used for power generation and distribution, machine control, and communications. In this discipline, students learn basic electrical theory to design electronic circuits, computer systems and also develop control systems.
The Electronics Engineering course is very similar to the Electronics and Communication Engineering course. They differ only in the sense that the latter has subjects focusing more on communication engineering. Communication engineering is an important area of application for electronic circuits. Electronic equipment and communication equipment has interconnected everyone in many ways nowadays.
With the evolution of the computer age, Electronics and Communication engineering is an emerging field of engineering. Electronics is now a part of our everyday life, from your pocket FM radio to televisions, computers, mobile phones and even the high-end satellites that are helping us in several ways.
The concept is to focus on the communication part with the knowledge of the electronics field. Electronics & Communication Engineering deals with the electronic devices, circuits, communication equipment’s like transmitter, receiver and integrated circuits (IC). It compiles chip level hardware and information technology.

Like in any other field the remuneration in this field depends on qualification, experience and area in which one works. One could get an initial pay of ₹20,000 to ₹70,000 per month.

Hedy Lamarr – Invented Spread Spectrum Technology on which Wi-Fi and CDMA are based. At the beginning of World War II, Lamarr and composer George Antheil developed a radio guidance system for Allied torpedoes, which used spread spectrum and frequency hopping technology to defeat the threat of jamming by the Axis powers. Although the US Navy did not adopt the technology until the 1960s, the principles of their work are arguably incorporated into Bluetooth technology, and are similar to methods used in legacy versions of CDMA and Wi-Fi. This work led to their induction into the National Inventors Hall of Fame in 2014. Although Lamarr had no formal training and was primarily self-taught, she worked in her spare time on various hobbies and inventions, which included an improved traffic stoplight and a tablet that would dissolve in water to create a carbonated drink. The beverage was unsuccessful; Lamarr herself said it tasted like Alka-Seltzer.
Vijay Shekhar Sharma
Vijay Shekhar Sharma – Founder, mobile payments company, Paytm. Sharma is India’s youngest billionaire. In 2000 he started one97 Communications which offered mobile content like news, cricket scores, ringtones, jokes and exam results. One97 is the parent company of Paytm, which was launched in 2010. In December 2015, Sharma criticised Facebook's Free Basics initiative in India, as being against the principle of net neutrality. Honoris Causa Doctorate of Sciences (D.Sc.) Degree, Amity University Gurgaon, 2016. Sharma was born in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh. He cites Alibaba's founder Jack Ma and Masayoshi Son of Softbank as his inspirations. Vinod Dham – Vinod Dham is an engineer, entrepreneur and venture capitalist. He is popularly known as 'Pentium Engineer' for his contribution to the development of highly successful Pentium micro-processor of Intel Co. of USA. He is a mentor, advisor and sits on the boards of many companies, including startups funded through his India-based fund Indo-US Venture Partners, where he is the founding managing director. Vinod Dham's accomplishment as 'Pentium Engineer' and as an Indian-American technology pioneer from Silicon Valley is being celebrated at a first-ever exhibition on South Asians in National Museum of Natural History at the storied Smithsonian in Washington, D.C., highlighting Indian-Americans who have helped shape America. After completing a BE degree in Electrical Engineering in 1971, he joined Delhi-based semiconductor manufacturer Continental Devices, one of India's only private silicon semiconductor start-ups at the time which collaborated with Teledyne Semiconductor Company, USA.
Satya Nadella – Is an Indian American business executive. He is the current Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Microsoft, succeeding Steve Ballmer in 2014. Before becoming CEO, he was Executive Vice President of Microsoft's cloud and enterprise group, responsible for building and running the company's computing platforms, developer tools and cloud computing services. Nadella worked at Sun Microsystems as a member of its technology staff prior to joining Microsoft in 1992. At Microsoft, Nadella has led major projects that included the company's move to cloud computing and the development of one of the largest cloud infrastructures in the world. Nadella worked as the senior vice-president of Research and Development (R&D) for the Online Services Division and vice-president of the Microsoft Business Division. Later, he was made the president of Microsoft's $19 billion Server and Tools Business and led a transformation of the company's business and technology culture from client services to cloud infrastructure and services. He has been credited for helping bring Microsoft's database, Windows Server and developer tools to its Azure cloud.
