Albert Einstein had his own mathematical formula for success, He said, “If A equals success, then the formula is A= X+Y+Z, where X is work, Y is play and Z is keep your mouth shut.” In the similar way, for few students, success means the output which is derived from hard work as an input.
Be calm: The students who believe in hard work and success, will surely study before the exams. So the last minutes before the exam is to sit calmly, and take a deep breath. Moreover, keep motivating yourself.
Revise: Study the important topics in the beginning. Do not keep it at the last minute to study because those topics give you the maximum marks. You can just recall the selective topics, but not all, as it may lead to confusions.
Positive thoughts: Do not worry about “What will happen if the exam goes bad?” Instead set your mind by thinking nothing will go wrong in the exam and give your best with a bright smile on your face.
Do not panic: “Fear is the mind-killer”, said Frank Herbert, in his novel Dune. So do not panic in case you have not studied any of the topics which your friends did, neither discuss anything other than what you have studied nor listen to any others who are studying some other topics which you did not study. All you need to do is try to explain any of the topics to your friend, so that both can recall the points, if not, it can be a learning to your friend.
Be strong: If you feel you are not remembering any of the points, do not fear instead say I am stronger than fear, which Malala Yousafzai believed in. Keep your mind cool, and just have a glance over the points, you will surely remember it in the exam. It is not that you forget, it’s the fear towards the exam that makes you feel so. Do not study for marks, as each individual is different and therefore, do not compare the performance.
Practice: Try to solve previous year question papers. Note down the time required to complete the paper. Try to complete it within the time limit. Make note of the frequently asked questions, so that there are chances of same questions been asked for this exam.
Being confident: As the quote said by David Bly, “Striving for success without hard work is like trying to harvest where you haven’t planted.” The best way to tackle the exam is to be confident with the topics being studied and take up examination as a way to express your understanding and knowledge on the subject.
Sleep: Have a good amount of sleep the previous day of the exam. There are students who sacrifice sleep during exams. These leads to increase in stress levels. Sleep at least 6 HOURS continuously per day.
Time management: Try to complete all the important topics on time so that there will be time to revise. Also plan how to write the answers in the examination. Make specific points, as it looks attractive in the answer sheets and helps to judge the answers better.
Lastly, I would like to say that believe in yourself. Put your determination and efforts to study and give your best. Do not allow others to tell what you are capable of. It lies all within you.
