Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) exam is required for admission to postgraduate technical courses and research programmes in the country. It is a national-level engineering entrance exam, which is conducted by the seven Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) (Roorkee, Madras, Kharagpur, Guwahati, Kanpur, Delhi and Bombay) and Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore. GATE exam not only makes you eligible to apply for M.Tech and Ph.D programmes in engineering colleges but also helps you in getting into the Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs).
This year, GATE exam was conducted by Institute of Technology, Roorkee (IIT Roorkee) on February 4 and 5, 2017 and February 11 and 12, 2017 (Saturdays and Sundays). The exam tests the skills and aptitude of the candidates based on their understanding of science and engineering subjects at undergraduate level. Lakhs of students appeared in GATE 2017 every year. GATE 2017 result was announced on March 26, 2017 (Monday) on the official GATE portal of IIT Roorkee i.e. www.gate.iitr.ernet.in.

GATE Cut off 2017 cut off may vary from GATE 2016 Cut off as it depends on various factors such as the number of students appeared in GATE 2017 this year, number of seats available and the difficulty level of the exam this year.
