How to register CAT 2017?
Before initiating the CAT application process 2017, the candidate must check the Eligibility criteria for appearing in Common Admission Test 2017. Once they ensure that they fulfil the eligibility criteria of CAT 2017, they can apply for the exam. For filling the application form of CAT 2017, the candidate must have a valid email ID and a mobile number.
Candidates must gather the following information which will be needed for filling the form:
- Educational history
- Mark sheets (10th /12th/ Degree/Diploma)
- Work Experience
- Scanned images of your passport size photo and signature.
- List of the IIM programmes to which you are applying
- Applicable Certificates to upload
Things needed before CAT Registration Process 2017
Before filling the CAT application form, candidates need to register themselves for CAT 2017. After registering on the official website of CAT, the user profile of the candidate will be created.
To register, candidates must enter the following information correctly as it can’t be changed once submitted:
- Candidate’s name as mentioned in 10th standard/SSC
- Date of Birth of Candidate
- Valid and unique Email address
- Mobile number of candidate

After entering the required information, add captcha and click on ‘I agree’ checkbox in the declaration section and submit the form. Once the form is submitted, the candidate will receive the CAT login details, Login details will include candidate’s Login ID and Password. Candidate will also receive the login password as an SMS on the registered mobile number.
How to register for CAT 2017? – Login to CAT website
Once the candidate got registered, he/she must log in on CAT website as existing user by entering user ID and Password. Candidates can fill the CAT application form on the redirected page.
Candidates are advised to verify the following instructions before registering for the:
- The fields that with a marked * are mandatory.
- Fill the important details and upload scanned copies of required documents.
- Click on Save and Continue to proceed to the next section.
- To complete the application form, the candidates can log in multiple times to complete CAT registration process
- Once the payment is done, the candidates will not be allowed to make any changes in the application.
Fill the CAT Registration form
CAT Application process is divided into five sections. Candidate should fill each section cautiously as it is mandatory to fill every section.

Personal Details
Under this section, candidates need to enter their Father’s/Husband’s/Guardian’s Name, Mother’s Name and Gender, caste and nationality details as applicable. If the candidate belongs to any category other than general, he/she should enter the additional details such as the serial number of caste/tribe, state/union territory of caste/tribe, and caste/tribe name.
How to Register for CAT 2017? – Documents Required
NC-OBC, SC-ST and PwD category– Candidates belonging to any of these categories are required to download the certificate from the CAT website. To upload the certificates on CAT website, enter the information and attest signatures from the appropriate authorities, self-attest, and scan as PDF documents.
Note: In order to apply under the PWD category, the Disability Percentage should be equal to or greater than 40%.
Communication Address
Here candidates must mention their postal address details correctly as it will be used for communication from CAT centre 2017. Candidates may also provide an alternate Email Address and Mobile Number here.
Upload Documents
In this section, applicants must upload all the mandatory documents as per the selection made in earlier sections. Following are the documents which need to be uploaded in CAT application form:

NOTE
- The size of the picture should not be more than 80KB each. The image should be clear with a minimum resolution of 150px/inch.
- It should be a recent photograph with white background. You will require the same photograph, to be affixed on the admit card on the day of the test.

Academics
After uploading the documents candidates have to enter their educational details in all the sections where applicable. Following are the fields to be filled:
- SSC/10th Std/Equivalent Details
- HSC/12th/Equivalent/Diploma Course Details
- Bachelor’s Degree Details
- Master ‘s Degree Details
- Other Professional Degree Details
NOTE
- For the calculation of percentages obtained in SSC/10th/Equivalent examination and HSC/12th/Equivalent/Diploma examination, the total marks of all subjects mentioned in the mark sheet/grade sheet would be considered irrespective of the Boards regulation.
- For graduates and postgraduates, the percentage of marks granted by the Board/Institute/University will be final.
- If the Institute/University does not give the percentage it will be calculated as per the marks obtained in all subjects mentioned in the mark sheet.
After the completion of all sections, click on save and continue to proceed to the next section.
Work Experience
Applicants with work experience are required to fill this section. Only full-time experience after the graduation must be entered. Candidates have to select their work area from the list. If applicants don’t find their profession, they can choose ‘others’ as an option.’
Programmes
In this section, candidates can select the number of programmes where they wish to apply. Then choose the preferred cities from the drop-down menu for the interview. Candidates are advised to choose the same city for the following IIM interview rounds:
Exam Centre City Preference:
Candidates can select maximum of 4 cities as their preference for the CAT exam. After the last date of registration, candidates will be allotted one city from the four preferred cities. In case any candidate won’t be allotted to any of the preferred cities, they will be allotted to a nearby city. Candidates will get all the details of the test city and venue in the CAT admit card 2017.
Register for CAT 2017 – Application Fee and Mode of Payment
To complete the CAT registration process 2017, the applicant has to pay the registration fee. This is the last and final procedure to fill the CAT application form. Fee for Common Admission Test is as follows:

Select the check boxes before you submit the form and proceed to the payment gateway.
Once the payment is done successfully, the payment transaction number will be displayed on the screen. Also, candidates will receive a confirmation email on the registered email id and will be redirected to the CAT 2017 website.
