Distance Learning programme is a program through which a student can study any course without having the physical presence in the institute and without compromising the quality of the education. The distance learning programmes usually involve the corresponding courses, but nowadays online education has also become a part of Distance Learning.
Distance Education in India:
In India percentage of enrollments in distance mode of education is 11% of the total enrollments as per the report of the Ministry of Human Resources and Development, Government of India. Distance Education is offered by only a few universities in India. Among the few, Calicut University Thrissur offers comprehensive courses in the distance education programme. To enroll in the distance education programmes in the University of Calicut, the candidate needs to register online for the desired course. The candidate can register online at the official website of the university. The fee for the courses is mentioned in the registration section for all the courses. The candidate can pay the fee online and can also download the materials from the site.
University of Calicut Distance Learning in Management:
Under the School of Distance Education, Calicut University also offers Management in Business Administration courses. The MBA course under the University is supervised by the Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies of the Calicut University. To get the admissions in the distance education course in management, the candidate needs to appear for CUMAT SDE (Calicut University Management Aptitude Test School of Distance Education).
Calicut University Work with Worker Programme:
The University of Calicut started an Industry Centered Skill Empowered Programme with a title ‘Work with Worker’ with an objective to extend the vocational education to youth for employability and imparting higher education.
