Nursing is the essential part of our medical system. Nursing is the practice to take care of the sick people suffering from all sorts of physical and psychological problems. Besides this, a nurse dispenses the medicine, keeps the patient’s records, assist medical specialists and operates the medical equipment along with the routine duties. Other opportunities for qualified nurses include teaching, administration and research jobs.

Auxiliary Nurse and Midwife (ANM)
Level Under-Graduate
Duration 1.5-2 years
Eligibility 10th class/10+2 (any discipline) with 40% to 50% marks, English as main/optional subject, Age ranges between 17-35 years, Only female students can apply, Candidates have to be medically fit
Entrance Exam Provision of entrance exam conducted by the Nursing Entrance Board, Some Universities/Colleges conduct their own written test plus interview. Other colleges’ admission criteria is based on 12th class percentage

Mode Regular/Distance Learning
Goal Basic and Rural Health Worker, Community Health Worker, Home Nurse
General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM)
Level Under-Graduate
Duration 3.5 years
Eligibility 10+2 (PCB) with 40% to 50% marks, English as main/optional subject, Age ranges between 17-35 years, Candidates have to be medically fit, Unmarried/Widow/Divorcee (only for girls who will apply in Indian Armed Forces)
Entrance Exam Provision of entrance exam conducted by the Nursing Entrance Board, Indian Army GNM Entrance Test (only female candidates), Some Universities/Colleges conduct their own written test plus interview. Other colleges’ admission criteria is based on 12th class percentage
