About Optometry
Definition
Optometry is a healthcare profession that focuses on eye care, vision and the visual system. An optometrist is a healthcare professional who is capable of prescribing and dispensing vision-correcting lenses, spectacles, diagnosing eye disease and treating them (to an extent).
Note: “Optometry Council of India is a self-regulatory body registered under the Indian Company Act, Section 25 A (Not for Profit)”.
Licensing/Registration
Complete the online form and make the payment of ₹2,000 for 3 years to Optometry Council Of India. After registration is done, a reference number is generated. Once Optometry Council Of India would verify the details they issue the certificate within 30 days.
