SSC-CGL (Combined Graduation Level Examination)
Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts combined Graduate Level (CGL) competitive exam every year which is conducted in 4 stages.
The Examination is conducted in 4 tiers, which are:-
- Tier 1 (Preliminary Exam)
- Tier 2 (Mains)
- Tier 3 (Descriptive)
- Tier 4 (DEST/CPT)
SSC CGL Tier-1 Exam
- SSC CGL tier 1 is conducted online.
- There will be negative marking of 0.50 marks for each wrong answer.
- This is not only qualifying in nature; Tier 1 marks will be considered till the last.
- After qualifying tier 1 you will be moved to SSC CGL tier 2.
Note : SSC CGL is a tough exam & you can prepare for it with SSC Study Material in Hindi or English, whichever language suits you the most.
Pattern of SSC CGL Tier 1

Time Allowed: – 2 hours (2 hours and 40 minutes for VH candidates)
Paper Mode: – Exam will be conducted offline and questions will be of Objective type multiple choice. Candidates can choose their Medium as Hindi or English.
Negative Marking: – 0.25 Marks will be deducted for every wrong answer.
SSC CGL Tier II Exam

- SSC CGL tier 2 will be conducted online.
- Paper-I & II are compulsory for all the categories of posts.
- Paper-III is only for those candidates who apply for the post of Statistical Investigator Gr. II & Compiler.
- Paper IV is only for those candidates who apply for the post of Assistant Audit Officer.
- After qualifying Tier 2, you will be moved to tier 3.
- The marks obtained by tier1 & tier 2 together will decide your eligibility in Tier 3 & Tier 4.
SS CGL Tier III

SSC CGL Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
Minimum qualification for appearing in this examination is Graduation from a Recognized University. Different essential educational qualifications for various posts are as follows: –
For the post of Compiler, Graduation from any recognized University with Economics or Statistics or Mathematics as compulsory or Elective subject.
For the post of Statistical Investigator Grade – II, Graduation with Statistics as one of the main subjects Or Graduation with Mathematics (with Statistics as one of the main subjects) Or Graduation with Economics (with Statistics as one of the main subjects Or Graduation with Commerce (with Statistics as one of the main subjects).
Age Limits
18 – 32 years for most of the posts (relaxation for SC/ST/OBC reserved category candidates).

How to Apply for SSC CGL?
Candidates can apply by submitting the online exam form and download challan to make payment or they can make payment online too.
SSC CGL Application Fees
For General Category candidate’s application fee is 100/-.
For reserved candidates (All Women candidates and candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Physically Handicapped, and Ex-Servicemen eligible for reservation) its exempted.
