The history of Architecture begins thousands of years before. The Archaeologists have explored the traces of different designs of ancient civilizations like Indus valley civilization. In ancient time, the prominence of architecture has been evolved with the findings of various useful structures like Graineries, ports and many temple architectures like Stupas, Viharas, Chaityas and much more.

Later in the medieval period, the architecture has come up to a new level in which rock cut architecture style became very prominent. Later, when the Britishers arrived, they have totally changed the nature of the architectural practices so far has been used. The colonial architecture exhibited itself through utilitarian, institutional and civic buildings like railway stations, government buildings, post office and red houses. The common factor among all the time is that the Architect kept in mind the strength of the structure that it builds using different engineering techniques.

Architecture Relevance in Present Time:

India is a developing country where infrastructural development is a prominent aspect to contribute a major portion in the growth of the economy and overall development. The government also gives particular emphasis on more and more infrastructural developments so as to facilitate the ease of doing business in India. Many companies in India are working in the construction sector and will continue to get involved in the coming times.

Being an Architect:

To choose Architecture as a career option, a person is required to give NATA Exam. NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture) is regulated by the Council of Architecture (COA). NATA 2017 will be held on 16th April 2017 which will be conducted in two parts:

Part-A: Mathematics and General Aptitude (120 marks)

Part-B: Drawings (80 Marks)
