The University of Calicut or the Calicut University is the largest university in Kerala, established in the year 1968. It was the second University to be set up in the state. With 394 affiliated colleges in the state, the University is offering undergraduate and postgraduate courses in diverse fields such as sciences, social sciences, commerce, law, engineering & technology, medical, education, management, etc. The university also offers diploma, PG diploma, and certificate level courses. The University has designed these courses especially for gaining professional, job-related skills.

Undergraduate Courses

The general eligibility for taking admission into undergraduate courses is 10+2 level of education. The discipline changes as per the courses.

Postgraduate Courses

For admission to postgraduate courses, the minimum eligibility criterion is bachelor’s degree in related subjects.

Diploma Courses

10+2 is the minimum education requirement for diploma courses. However, a few courses also require a bachelor’s degree.

PG Diploma Courses

Graduate or equivalent degree in related subjects is the minimum educational eligibility for admission to PG diploma courses.

Certificate Courses

10+2 level of education.

Admission Procedure

Candidates need to apply online for admission to various courses offered by the University. You have to pay the application fee via the online mode. The University will admit the students to courses such as B.Sc., BHM, B.P.Ed., M.Sc., MA, MSW, M.Com., MCA, M.Li.Sc., etc on the basis of entrance exam and admission to other UG and PG courses will be done on the basis of marks in 10+2 and graduation level respectively.

It will allow admissions to courses such as M.Tech., M.Pharm., MS, MD, MDS, Ph.D. on the basis of marks scored in exams GATE, NEET, UGC NET, etc.

Similarly, the University will allow admissions to B.Tech courses on the basis of the KEAM exam and to B.Arch. courses on the basis of NATA exam.

Entrance Exam-Based Courses

The University will provide the online application form in the month of April. Admission to the following courses will be done on the basis of the entrance examination. The tentative exam dates are listed below:

Calicut University Entrance Exam Result

The university will announce the result of the Calicut University Entrance Exam at the official website. Candidates are required to check the same using their log-in credentials. The Calicut University will allot the seats on the basis of candidate’s performance in the entrance exam.

For the CAP based courses, after the application process is over, the University prepares the merit-list on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying exam. Centralized counseling round will be held as per the merit list and seats will be allotted in the university and colleges affiliated to it. Candidates can check the seat allotment through the official website:
