Adventure sports can be your full-fledged career option. you could find yourself working at different places at different times, and with different people. Having expertise in multiple areas gives an instant boost to work opportunities. Adventure sports are used to classify certain activities that feature a high level of danger. In fact, these activities often involve speed, height, a high level of physical exertion, and highly specialized gear or spectacular stunts. Adventure sports enthusiasts take on nature’s most menacing qualities, hoping to survive and conquer. These adventure sports often involve individual participants, rather than teams. The high danger associated with the activities places the participants at high risk for injury in the case of an accident or mistake. Pay Package
- Like in any other field the remuneration in this field depends on qualification, experience, and area in which one works. One could get an initial pay of ₹8,000 to ₹15,000 per month.
Role Models
Bachendri Pal
Bachendri Pal– She is a mountaineer who made history by becoming the first Indian woman to reach the summit of Mount Everest in 1984. She received several awards during her mountaineering career, including the Padma Shri and the Arjuna Award. She is the first recipient of Virangana Lakshmibai Rashtriya Samman 2013–14, which was given by the Ministry of Culture, Government of Madhya Pradesh, India for her personal achievement in Adventure sports. Bachendri Pal along with Premlata Agarwal and a group of ace climbers, which includes Mt. Everest summiteers have quietly arrived in Uttarkashi and carried out relief and rescue operations in the remotest high altitude villages of the Himalayas that have been ravaged in the 2013 North India floods, where even the Indian Army youngsters couldn't reach.
Arunima Sinha
Arunima Sinha– She is the first female amputee to climb Mount Everest. This former national volleyball player lost her leg when she was pushed out of a train by thieves. She was determined to climb Everest with the help of her prosthetic leg and she did. She was awarded Padma Shri and Tenzing Norgay National Adventure Award. While still being treated in the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, she resolved to climb Mount Everest. She was inspired by cricketer Yuvraj Singh (who had successfully battled cancer) and other television shows, "to do something" with her life. She excelled in the basic mountaineering course from the Nehru Institute of Mountaineering, Uttarkashi, and was encouraged by her elder brother Omprakash to climb Everest. She climbed Mt Everest with a prosthetic leg, which was arranged by raising funds with the help of a swami of Ramakrishna Mission, Vadodara.
Ajeet Bajaj
Ajeet Bajaj– An adventurer and explorer, he became the first Indian to ski to the North Pole in April 2006 and the first to ski to both the North Pole and the South Pole in January 2007. He is the first Asian to have rafted and kayaked some of the most challenging rivers spanning six continents of the world. He was honored with Padma Shri by the Former President of India, Mrs. Pratibha Patil for his contribution to the adventure tourism in India. Bajaj has won a bronze medal in the national games for kayaking and a silver and two bronze medals in international rafting competitions in Switzerland and Siberia, Russia. He has captained an international team for world white water championships in Turkey.
