It is an interdisciplinary subject which draws on Sociology, Psychology, History and Philosophy to help us understand and broaden our knowledge about how people of all ages learn, and the factors that can impact positively and negatively on this. When thinking of the field of Education, becoming a teacher is one of the most obvious forms of an educational career. Even within teaching, the subject areas and age groups vary to a large extent creating a range of options. It is the only profession where you will not be under the stress of achieving fixed targets. The first and the foremost requirement to start a career in academics is a degree in graduation. One should remember that within the field of education there are a number of career options available such as administrative positions, counselors, researcher, advisors and consultants.
