Don’t be afraid to stand out!

Follow your dreams

Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—

I took the one less traveled by,

And that has made all the difference.

– Robert Frost.

These wonderful lines penned down by the Great Robert Frost in his classic poem The road not taken has always made an impression on me. Now first of all let’s understand what does standing out means? It means to think and act as you see fit. It means to listen to your heart and follow your passion. It means to believe in you and take risks. It means to fight for what you want with all that you have got.

Many times in your life you have to take vital decisions. There are two choices – The easy way and the unconventional way. But always contemplate before you run to a conclusion. Listen to your heart. Leave the world behind and ask yourself what you want. However uneasy or unconventional the answer may be, go for it. Because always remember that it is going to make all the difference.

The world is filled with examples of people who listened to their heart, followed their instinct and are now at the top of the pyramid with the world at their disposal. Who would have thought that the website which helped people to talk and connect would make billions and billions of dollars. But Mark Zukerberg proceeded beating the odds and went on to create the revolution in social networking.

Never and I say never be afraid to stand out. So what if your choice is not so mainstream? So what that the path is difficult and challenging? Just believe in yourself and begin your journey to the future of your dreams. Remember that a violent sea makes a skilled mariner.

Brandon Stanton chose photography and came to New York penniless. He struggled and fought against the odds. Then he created http://www.humansofnewyork.com/ and he was named one of the Time magazines 30 under 30. Brandon’s major was history.

A young boy always wanted to be an entrepreneur. So he decided to opt out of college. Do you know this guy? He is Ritesh Agarwal of OYO rooms. He created a network of around 700 hotels and an empire https://www.oyorooms.com/ at an early age of 22.

The God of cricket himself opted out of school because he wanted to chase his dream. He wanted to do what made him contempt. He wanted to devote all his time to improve what he was already good at and what was his passion.

Another example is Aamir Khan. Aamir decided to not go to college and pursue his dream of acting. Today we are all glad he made that decision. Aren’t we?

All this examples are of the people who followed their passion and succeeded in life. These are only a few examples and the world is filled with people like this. Once Albert Einstien said that a fish cannot climb a tree in spite of how skillful it is. Know your strengths, discover your passion and chase your dreams. Don’t be afraid of the obstacles. Don’t be bothered about what the world says or thinks. Just embark your journey to a memorable lane.

Chase your passion. Whatever it may be! Be it sports; be it dance, music, art, history, commerce, acting, photography and science. Be it anything.  Just transform and develop yourself with each step you take. Make yourself better and better. Excel in your purpose and life.
