An investment round led by SucSEED Indovation Fund saw INR 16.5 crore raised by Lucknow-based edtech business EduGorilla. Along with many other angel investors, the round included participation from Lead Angels Fund, Mumbai Angels, TiE India, VG Angels, WeFounderCircle, and Ah Ventures. The money raised will be used to translate the platform’s content into a total of nine regional languages with the goal of attracting 10 to 11 lakh new paying customers who will use the online test banks, video tutorials, and study guides for more than 1600 exams.
“As we reach out to a 7.5 crore student base in tier II and III cities and villages, it is crucial to concentrate on vernacular languages because the majority of our students, who make up over 70% of our student body, are not fluent in English. This money will enable us to deliver high-quality instruction in their native tongue at their door, “EduGorilla’s founder and CEO, Rohit Mangalik, said.
