Firstly, what does a university mean? A university (/juːnɪˈvəːsɪti/) as defined by Oxford Dictionary is “A high-level educational institution in which students study for degrees and academic research is done.”
As mentioned above, an individual studies in a university for a specific degree in the field one aims to pursue. It may be law, management, engineering, or any other. This degree then adds to their reputation. Also, as obvious as it is, studying from the top universities not only does add majorly to your work life but also to your social life. Studying from these universities indicates that you are focused, smart and intelligent, shooting up your job resume and also increasing your credibility. These degrees and research also secures your future, giving you a superior and safe reputation. To be honest, who doesn’t want that? I am sure I do.
The main duty of any university is to nurture the individual’s intellect in a way that they become adults. Not that you already aren’t, but you get my point, right? As correctly mentioned in the quote by the great novelist, Russell Smith that, “Universities can teach maturity. They can teach teenagers how to be adults, and that means to function outside a clique or a tribe.” This is something that is very necessary for the society as a whole. Universities play a very important role in developing and enriching the individuals who are willing to make a change in the world and make it a better place for everybody. That’s one of the main reasons why any individual prefers to graduate from one of the top universities because these universities have the best faculty, the best resources and the best techniques to train students from all around the world. When you graduate from any of these universities, there’s very less explanation you will need to do to anyone when you explain your qualities because it’s all in front of them.
Overall, graduation from top universities is sure hyped because a lot of famous inspirations graduate from mediocre universities like Sarah Palin who is the former Republican vice presidential candidate and former governor of Alaska, Steve Jobs who was the co-founder of Apple and who constructed a legacy in the tech world that won’t be forgotten, and many more. Thus, this proves that all you need is dedication and the will-power to succeed in life. Although, it’s also worth the reputation because this becomes a status symbol which helps you in every part of your life, from getting a job to getting married.
Therefore, graduating from these top universities is definitely worth the reputation because hey, who wouldn’t want a great reputation?
