JEE Main 2018 Application From Correction Started- Rectify Discrepancy Now

Candidates who have submitted the application forms and later encountered default in image of signature and photograph can now replace them form the correct one. CBSE has released the form correction facility for the applicants on the official website of the JEE Main2018. This provision is available from 09 January 2018. The facility of making correction will remain active till 22 January 2018. All registered candidates are advised to verify their particulars as they will not be able to amend any information after completion of the provision. In case of any wrong/incomplete/flawed information, make the correction before the last date. Candidates won’t be able to change the mode of examination.

After the last date, no changes will be allowed to make. Candidates have to pay an extra fee for making corrections and the fee can be paid either by credit/debit card/Ewallet (SBI buddy/Paytm) or through e-challan generated during the online correction by cash in the Syndicate/Canara/ICICI Bank. The last date to pay the additional fee is 28 January 2018. JEE Main application process 2018 was completed on 01 January 2018. In JEE Main 2018, around 11.5 lakh students applied for the online test while nearly 9.5 lakh students applied for the pen-and-paper based exam.

Candidates usually make spelling mistakes or they provide incomplete information regarding their qualification or they upload photographs and signatures in the wrong format. All these mistakes might look minor but create huge problems for the candidates applying for JEE Main 2018. Keeping all these things into consideration, CBSE now givens candidates an opportunity to correct their mistakes they made while filling the online application form for JEE Main 2018. But this facility is only for the students who registered for JEE Main 2018 before the last date and submitted duly filled application form along with JEE Main application fee 2018.

Thankfully, candidates can now correct the mistakes within the prescribed period of time. Candidates get only one chance to correct their mistakes. How to make changes in the application form?

Like JEE Main 2018 application process, you need to follow some steps in application correction process as well. Given below are the steps, you need to follow to make changes in JEE Main application form 2018.

  • Open and log onto the CBSE JEE website, jeemain.nic.in
  • Under the “Current Events” column, on the left-hand side, click “Remove Discrepancy in Uploaded Image(s)”
  • You’ll be directed to another page
  • Enter your application number and password and click “Login”
  • Read all the important instructions and follow all the steps to make all the changes/ edits to your picture and signature scans.
  • Upload a scanned photograph with the name and date on which the photograph was taken
  • Save your application after making the changes.

Steps to make changes in other details in JEE Main application form 2018:

  • Visit JEE Main official website
  • Enter your application number and password to login into your account
  • Go through your application form to check if there is any mistake
  • Correct your mistakes and replace the wrong details with the corrected information
  • If you need to pay any charges for correction in the application form, pay them in the format prescribed by CBSE

Note:

There are some fields, to make the correction in which, candidates need to pay the required fee. CBSE gives the fee details and the areas on which it is applicable on the correction page itself. It is advised that candidates read the instructions carefully before JEE Main application form correction 2018.

Candidates are not allowed to make changes in the exam mode when correcting their form. To make a change in exam mode, they need to pay an additional fee, which will be notified when JEE Main application form correction process starts.

Till 2016, students had an option to upload a scan of their thumb impression as well, but this has been discontinued from next year onwards. The dimensions for the photograph scan needs to be 3.5 x 4.5 cm picture size and should be between 4KB and 100KB in file size. The dimensions for the signature scan needs to be 3.5 x 1.5 cm size and 1 KB to 30 KB file size. Both the scans have to be in JPEG format.
