MAT 2017 exam pattern is provided here for the test set to be conducted on 5th and 11th February 2017 (paper and computer-based respectively). The examination, which is conducted by All India Management Association or AIMA, gives applicants a chance to study MBA, PGDM and allied courses at post graduation level in various B-schools across India and abroad.
However, knowledge of the MAT exam pattern is very crucial for applicants. This enables them to know about the exam in detail and prepare the type of questions expected in the exam beforehand, thereby increasing the possibility of obtaining a good MAT score.
MAT Exam Pattern:
MAT 2017 exam pattern for December examination will constitute of multiple choice questions offering four answer choices for each question. There will be a total of 200 questions to attempt in all which will be divided into 5 different sections. Each of these sections will consist of 40 questions.
The five different sections along with the time suggested for it are as follows –
- Language Comprehension – 30 minutes
- Mathematical Skills – 40 minutes
- Data Analysis & Sufficiency – 35 minutes
- Intelligence & Critical Reasoning – 30 minutes
- Indian & Global Environment – 15 minutes
Thus, the MAT examination will be of a total of 150 minutes or 2.5 hours. Candidates should also note that negative marking will be done and 0.25 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer.
The admit cards for MAT February 2017 will be made available to the applicants from 28th January 2017 onwards. Applicants of both offline (i.e. paper-based) as well as online (computer-based) mode of examination will have to download their admit cards from the official web portal of AIMA.
