NIFT 2018: National Institute of Fashion Technology, Mumbai (NIFT Mumbai) is a premier institute known for offering quality education and a range of courses in fashion technology and design. The exam is held to admit students to courses at the undergraduate and postgraduate level. Those who want to take admission in NIFT, Mumbai, only NIFT 2018 entrance exam is the way. Candidates can apply for the exam until December 29, 2017 without late fee, whereas the last date to apply with a late fee of INR 5000 is January 2, 2018. NIFT admit cards will be up for download from January 9, 2018 onwards and NIFT exam, which is a pen and paper based exam, will be held on January 21, 2018. The exam is to help NIFT grant admission to a total number of 2370 seats in Bachelor of Design course whereas the fashion of technology courses are offered across 16 campuses that are located all across India.
NIFT 2018 entrance exam will be held in Mumbai, Bhubaneshwar, Jodhpur, Gandhinagar, Kangra, Kannur, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Patna, Raebareli, Chennai, New Delhi, Hyderabad, Shillong and Srinagar. Candidates who wish to take admission in B.Des have to appear for Creative Ability Test (CAT) and General Ability Test (GAT). NIFT 2018: Application Process and Fee
For NIFT 2018 entrance exam, application fee varies for students belonging to different categories. Those belonging to the General and OBC categories need to pay an application fee of INR 1500 whereas those who belong to SC, ST and PHT categories, INR 750 is the application fee. Candidates can pay application fee following two modes of payments – through Debit/Credit card or Demand Draft. The fact worth noticing here is once the candidates submit the application form and deposit the application fee, they will not be able to change any information whatsoever. NIFT 2018 Admit Cards Availability
As per the official notification, NIFT 2018 admit card will be available for download from January 9, 2018, from 1 PM onwards. Candidates can reach out to the NIFT 2018 official website to download the same until the exam day on January 21, 2018. Here is the detailed information on how NIFT Admit Card will look like and information it will contain.
NIFT 2018 Result
NIFT 2018 entrance exam result will be announced anytime between February and March 2018 in an online mode only. Basis NIFT 2018 result (CAT and GAT), shortlisted candidates will be called for the second test which is Situation Test. For B.F.Tech aspirants, GAT will be the final test for selection. Please refer to the NIFT GAT, CAT, Situation test weightage provided above of course wise for better clarity. In case of candidates obtaining an equal score, the older candidate will be given preference over the younger one.
NIFT 2018 Cut Off
NIFT Mumbai will announce the NIFT 2018 Cut off which will consist of section and campus wise closing ranks of candidates. Cut off for NIFT 2018 entrance exam will enable candidates to know the ranks required for getting admission in the desired specialization at the UG and PG level. Only the candidates securing the required rank in the entrance exam will be called for the counselling and admission procedure. However, a total number of students appearing for NIFT 2018 exam, a total number of candidates who pass the exam, difficulty level of the questions paper and finally the total number of seats available for B.Design and B.F.Tech seats are the determining factors to create NIFT 2018 cut off.
NIFT 2018 Counselling Process
Counselling process for NIFT 2018 exam will commence from the end of May or beginning of June 2018. Candidates who qualify the exam need to appear for the counselling procedure as per the schedule that NIFT Mumbai, the exam conducting, specifies. Candidates need to bring the required certificates and documents along and need to produce them as and when required.
