Reputation is all a university lives for, even if a life or justice is at stake.

Reputation Is What Men And Women Think Of Us; Character Is What God And Angels Know Of Us

Reputation is only a candle of wavering and uncertain flame, and easily blown out, but it is the light by which the world looks for and finds merit.”

Reputation is the belief or opinions that are generally held about someone or something. It is a wide spread belief that someone or something has a particular characteristics.

“His knowledge of his subject earned him a reputation as an expert”

“His reputation was tarnished by allegations of bribery”

Reputation is like an emperor’s throne once conquer will always want to maintain it by hook or crook. For reputed people their reputation is everything and they want to maintain it at any cost whether the reputed personalities be a big business concern, firm or universities.

Universities are like head of the family, loves his family members but loves “one-self” or so-called “reputation” of his family his family more than anything else. Or to put it differently is scared of his peers and society.

They carries the audacity to silence near and dear ones for the sake of his reputation, even if life or justice is at stake.

If we consider a university as a mother, it will be arrogant to teach a mother to make babies. But it will not be arrogant if we would ask the mother to go through some parental guidance classes. Initially, there was a distance between a mother and her child. With times changing they have become more friendlier. Same things happen with the universities also there is no need of teaching  them the procedure of building a students’ career. They just have to go through some guidance to understand their students well.

“As per me an institution should be driven by values and not by reputation

Values are not let down if you do something wrong, but are let down if you try and hide what wrong has been done for the sake of reputation. People respect someone who owns up the responsibility of wrong doings; because they know that the acceptance of he same means that the wrong doing will not be repeated.

Saying this doesn’t mean that all universities have an obsession with its reputation but some of them have changed with time. But most of them has still stick to their so-called reputation. Behind the veil of reputation you will find individuals who have forgotten to love or beloved, have a very narrow perception about success or failure, see any act of heroism as an act of rebellion make decision to keep their interest alive, But detrimental to the interest of his pupils. They just need a pedigree to change their mind set.

This fear of losing reputation provokes to do anything freely because they know that the university won’t let them happen anything because their names has been stick to the names of their respected universities.

This has made them fearless, immoral like goons which also spoils their career as well as the victim’s career who is also a student of the respected universities. And the final nail hammered on their career’s coffin is by universities pressure to hold the first position. These has increased the numbers of immoral acts in the universities such as ragging, eve-teasing, suicide, rape, etc.

Now a days, social media has become one of the most impactful medium of communication as traditional media outlets and press are. But the renowned universities supress such immoral acts being taking place in their universities under their nose because of the sake of their reputation. Which is totally unethical, unlawful and injustice towards the victims among which most of them are students of their universities. But no one raise their voice for them of which many for the fear of society and university doesn’t fight for justice.

But our Bollywood movies has always thrown light on such issues and also supports this. Remember the movie “Mohabattein”…. Big B’s towering voice ‘Pratishtha’i.e, reputation and ‘Anuashan’i.e, discipline, were silenced by the change of winds with sharukh’s character bought with him.

Remember Professor Dr. Viru Sahastrabuddhi from three idiots. How was he?. Ultimately, you need a ranchordas to change such mind-set.

And trust me, if we would be able to play the role of Ranchordas and Sharukh’s character to change such mind-set. This problem will be rare soon as Tigers are now. We all just need confidence and courage to do it.

The dead cannot cry out for justice; it is a duty of the living to do so for them.”

“justice without force is powerless; force without justice is tyrannical.”
