Things to Know About SSC CGL Exam

Staff Selection Commission conducts the Combined Graduate Level Exam every year to recruit staff into various ministries, departments under the Government of India.

This exam is one of the most sought-after government exams amongst aspirants due to the handsome salary, allowances, medical benefits tagged along with this exam.

SSC CGL exam in India is conducted by the Staff Selection Commission for ‘Grade B’ and ‘Grade C’ posts.

The minimum educational qualification for the SSC CGL exam is a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized University.

Aspirants who crack the exam are entitled a basic pay of Rs 18,000/- per month.

Eligibility for the CGL Exam

The CGL Eligibility is listed below:

  1. Citizenship– Must be a citizen of India, Nepal, Bhutan
  2. Age Limit- Age group between 18 years to 32 years
  3. Qualification- Bachelor’s degree from a recognized University
  4. Physical Fitness– Only for posts like Inspector, Sub- Inspector, etc.

There is also certain limit relaxation for reserved candidates.

Syllabus for CGL Exam

The important topics for the CGL Exam are Quantitative Aptitude, Logical Reasoning, English and General Awareness. Majority of the questions would be framed around these topics. Therefore, aspirants should prepare for the exam accordingly.
