BITSAT, short-term for, Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test is conducted annually in the month of May in online mode by Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS). It is a route to Admissions to Integrated First Degree Programmes of BITS Pilani Campuses in Pilani, Goa, and Hyderabad. Around 2 lakh candidates appear and compete for around 2,000 seats available in various BE (Hons.) programme every year.

What’s New in BITSAT 2018
- The male candidates will have to pay an application fee of Rs 2950, while the females will have to pay Rs 2450 for BITSAT 2018.
- Candidates who opt Dubai (both male and female) as the center, they will have to pay Rs 4500 as the application fee.
- There are around 50 exam centers for BITSAT 2018.
BITSAT Eligibility Criteria 2018
- Candidates who have passed class 12 or equivalent examination from any state or the central board. They need to score 75% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology in the qualifying exam. They must also secure 60% marks in all the 3 subjects separately.
- Aspiring candidates should also have proficiency in English.
- Candidates with Rank 1 in state or central boards in India will be offered seats of their choice, despite their rank/score in BITSAT 2018. However, they should meet the all the conditions mentioned above.

- BITSAT 2018 will be held in online mode. The paper will have 4 sections – Part I, Part II, Part III and Part IV
- Physics and Chemistry sections will have around 40 questions each, while Mathematics section will contain 45 questions and English Proficiency and Logical Reasoning will contain 10 and 15 questions respectively.
- The time allotted to complete BITSAT 2018 paper is 3 hours (without a break)
- All the questions are objective in nature or in other words – MCQs.
- Each correct answer will be given 3 marks, each incorrect -1 and unattempted questions will be given zero or no marks.
- If any candidate finishes answering all the 150 questions, then he/she can opt for 12 extra questions, 4 each from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM), in case they still have time within the allotted 3 hours.
