W.e.f. 1st July 2017, ICAI has revised the entire CA Curriculum starting from CPC (Common Proficiency Course) to CA Final. So, as per the revised scheme, the CPC has been replaced by CA Foundation, the registration for which has already started from 1st July 2017 and registration from the old course has been ceased w.e.f. 30th June 2017.
This article is aiming to guide students who are searching for CA Foundation registration and Fee structure. In addition, we have also mentioned registration guidelines to follow.
CA Foundation and Its Eligibility
CA Foundation course is an entry-level course for the students who want to pursue the Chartered Accountancy course. Students can register in the CA Foundation after appearing in the 12th examination conducted by an examining body constituted by law in India or an examination recognized by the Central Govt. as equivalent thereto.
The exams for the CA Foundation is conducted twice in a year i.e. May and November, which will start from May 2018.
From the date of registration, students have to undergo a study period of 4 months to appear in the Foundation examination i.e. in order to appear in the Nov 2018 exams, one has to register himself on or before 30th June 2018. And students who are successfully registered with the ICAI for the CA Foundation before 31st Dec 2017 are only eligible to appear in May 2018 examinations. Registration Procedure in CA Foundation
In order to get yourself registered for the CA Foundation, one has to follow the below steps –

Students can register themselves from the ICAI official portal.

Thereafter you have to fill the requisite details like Name, DoB, Email, Phone number, Aadhar number and set a password to your account.

On completion of such account, you can proceed towards login to the registration portal and fill the necessary details.

You will also need to submit the required documents and thereafter you can proceed towards the payment.

After successful payment, you can save your application and take a printout.

Finally, the hard copy of such online registration form is required to be duly signed by the candidate and shall be submitted to the regional office within 7 days with the prerequisite documents.
Documents Required for CA Foundation
The documents which shall be submitted to the ICAI with 7 days of online registration are as follows –

Attested Copy of Admit Card/Marksheet of Class 12th examination issued by the respective board.

One latest colored photograph which should be affixed to the hard copy of the registration form.

Attested copy of proof of Nationality, if the student is a foreigner.

Attested copy of proof of special category certificate i.e. SC/ST, OBC, Differently abled.

Attested copy of the 10th Marksheet/Admit card of 10th class indicating the Name and Date of Birth.
Once the above registration formalities are completed, ICAI will dispatch the study material to the students through the CDS (Centralized Dispatch System).

Guidelines to be Followed while Registration

A new student in ICAI refers to the student who has made an application for any course in ICAI, as well as never received Student registration number such as CRO/NRO/SRO/ERO/WRO. Such students can apply into the CA Course through the CA Foundation or Direct Entry Route.

Existing students of ICAI are the students who are already a part of ICAI and have received the registration number starting with NRO/SRO/ WRO/ERO/ CRO.

For any future communication and reference, you are advised to use your own email id and mobile number while filling the registration form.

Once the student gets registered, an OTP will be sent to their registered email id/mobile number which needs to be entered in the User Verification Screen.

On getting registered, you will be eligible to apply for the various courses.

In case you have not received OTP, wait as it may take some time. After some time, you should log in again and after verification, you will be diverted to the OTP verification screen, where you can submit your OTP.

List of application form along with status and form acknowledgment number will be displayed on your dashboard.

Finally, your form will be displayed by clicking the acknowledgment number of which you should take a printout.
Those students who desire to appear in May 2018 CA Foundation Examinations are required to submit their exam application form before 26th Feb (without late fees) or 5th March (with late fees).
