CMAT 2018 – All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) will be conducting CMAT 2018 on January 21, 2018, across 75 cities of the country. This year, the exam will be held on a single day The online registration for the exam commenced from October 17, 2017. The application form to register for the exam is available online, on the official website, www.aicte-cmat.in. Candidates having Bachelor’s degree and are further interested in pursuing post graduation in management can apply for this computer-based test. Application fee to register for the exam is Rs. 1400 for General/OBC candidates and Rs. 700 for others. The last date to complete online CMAT 2018 registration is December 18, 2017.
Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) is a national level management entrance test, score of which can be used for seeking admission to MBA, PGDM, Executive PGDM and other management courses offered by more than 1000 AICTE affiliated Colleges/Universities of India. Approx. 70,000 candidates appear for CMAT exam every year. Last year, a total of 59181 candidates qualified the exam, where 2 candidates obtained the perfect 100 percentile. No changes have been to the test pattern. CMAT 2018 question paper will have 100 objective type questions from 4 sections namely, Quantitative Techniques & Data Interpretation, Logical Reasoning, Language Comprehension and General Awareness.
AICTE has commenced with online registration for CMAT 2018 from October 18. Access the link below to register for the exam. Apply on or before December 18, 2017. Fee to register for exam is Rs. 1400 and 700 for General/OBC and reserved category applicants respectively.

CMAT Eligibility Criteria 2018
AICTE provides certain CMAT eligibility norms which must be fulfilled by every candidate aspiring to take the exam. Before applying for CMAT 2018 exam, the candidates must ensure that they meet the eligibility criteria to appear for the exam as non-fulfilment of same may lead to disqualification of the candidature at later stages of admission.
The gist of CMAT 2018 eligibility criteria are as follow –
- The candidates must be a citizen of India.
- They must have a Bachelor’s degree of 3 years duration in any discipline from a recognized University.
- Candidates of any age can apply for the exam.
- The candidates pursuing their final year of Graduation can also apply for CMAT 2018, provided their final year result should be declared before commencement of admissions for the 2018-19 academic year.
CMAT 2018 Application Process
The application form to apply for CMAT 2018 exam is now available in online mode. On October 18, 2017, the registration for the exam commenced. The candidates can visit the official website of AICTE CMAT, www.aicte-cmat.in to register for the exam. Or, they can access the link given on this page to obtain the CMAT 2018 application form.
Before commencing with the CMAT form filling, applicants must arrange for the following –
- Valid email id and mobile number
- Qualification details
- Scanned photograph having dimensions 140 X 160 and file size less than 60kb
- Scanned signature having dimensions 60 X 90 and file size less than 30kb
- Arrange for payment of CMAT exam fee
CMAT Application Fee 2018
For completing the CMAT registration process, the applicants will be required to pay an application fee. The candidates must note that the CMAT 2018 application form will not be submitted if you will not pay the exam fee. This fee is non-refundable can be paid using any of the available online payment modes.

CMAT 2018 Application Form
Registering for the CMAT 2018 exam is a simple 3 step process –
Step 1 – Fill a self-registration form entering your email id and mobile number. On submitting this form, CMAT 2018 login credentials will be generated. Thereafter, using these login details, login at CMAT registration portal as ‘existing user’.
Step 2 – In this next step, pay the CMAT 2018 application fee using any of the modes as mentioned in the above section.
Step 3 – At this last step, fill the details in the CMAT application form 2018. Fill these details carefully and modify the same if required. The candidates will be required to fill in personal, education, work experience, contact details. Also, they will be required to upload their recent photograph & signature on the form. Lastly, review the details filled in the form and submit the same.
The CMAT 2018 aspirants are advised to keep a copy of the submitted application form safe with them for any future reference.
CMAT Exam Centres 2018

CMAT Admit Card 2018
AICTE will be releasing the CMAT 2018 admit card on 5 January 2018. All the candidates who will register for the exam before the due date will only be issued the hall ticket. Candidates must carry the print out of the admit card along with them to the test centre for taking entry into it and permission to take the exam.
- CMAT admit card will be made available only in online mode. It will be uploaded on the official website, www.aicte-cmat.in for the candidates to download.
- Also, the AICTE CMAT hall ticket 2018 will be sent to the valid email id of the candidates.
- CMAT 2018 login id and password will be needed for downloading the admit card online.
- Hall ticket will provide details such as photo, name and signature of the candidate, CMAT 2018 roll number, test date, time, reporting time at the venue, venue name, venue address and brief instructions for the candidate.
Along with admit card of CMAT exam 2018, the candidates will also be required to carry one original ID proof and it must be ensured that the name on the photo ID must match to the name as entered in the CMAT application form. Also, it must be ensured that the admit card bears a recent passport size photograph of the candidate on it.
CMAT Exam Pattern 2018
CMAT will be a computer-based test. AICTE has not made any changes to the test pattern of CMAT 2018. In the exam, 100 objective type questions will be asked from 4 sections. The exam takers will be given 180 minutes (3 hours) to attempt the exam.

CMAT Syllabus 2018
Before commencing with the preparations for any exam, it is important to know the syllabus of the test. This will help the candidates save their precious time and thus have a focused exam preparation. As far as CMAT syllabus is concerned, AICTE never officially provides it. However, based on previous year exams, the syllabus of CMAT exam is devised by the experts and the exam takers. Here below we are listing the CMAT 2018 syllabus for each of the 4 sections–

CMAT Answer Key 2018
Answer key comprises of correct answers to the questions asked in the exam. These are released on the date of the exam, after its conduct. But for CMAT, obtaining the answer key is not feasible as it is an online test. It’s not practically possible to obtain the question paper of the test and therefore availability of answer key of CMAT also becomes impractical. Though the students may find a few answer key of this MBA entrance test over the internet via unofficial sources but they must note that these answer keys of CMAT 2018 may not be reliable or have any authentic source.
CMAT Result 2018
AICTE hs not announced any particular date for CMAT exam result announcement as of now. However, CMAT 2018 result will most likely be announced by first week of February 2018. The result will be made available in online mode only, on the official website of AICTE-CMAT. The scorecard of the test will not be sent via post or email to the candidates. The candidates will need CMAT 2018 login credentials for checking the result and downloading the CMAT scorecard.
- The result is also furnished in the form of rank. The candidates will then be arranged in a merit list on the basis of their scores obtained in the test. The minimum percentile of CMAT required for seeking admission into renowned and good B-schools in India is expected to range in between 97-99.XX.
- The score of CMAT 2018 will remain valid of a year only and will be considered for both, part-time and full-time MBA programs offered by all AICTE approved Institutes & Universities.
CMAT Merit List 2018
AICTE releases the All India and State CMAT Merit list after the declaration of the CMAT result. These lists will be prepared based on the scores obtained by the candidates in CMAT 2018. The merit list will be released online and will be available on the AICTE CMAT 2018 official website for the candidates to check. The list will indicate the Name, Roll number, Rank, Score and Percentile (sectional and overall) of the candidates. According to this merit list, the B-Schools accepting CMAT 2018 score shortlist eligible candidates and offer them MBA admission.
CMAT Cutoff 2018
The colleges accepting the score of this exam will determine the cutoff of CMAT 2018 after the availability of CMAT result and merit list. Based on factors such as number of candidates taking the exam, difficulty level of the exam, reservations norms adopted by the Institutes and previous year CMAT cutoff etc., the CMAT 2018 cutoff will be prepared. This cutoff will be determined individually by the participating colleges and may vary for different categories of the candidates taking the exam.

CMAT Selection Process 2018
On the basis of CMAT 2018 cutoff, the candidates will be shortlisted for further admission rounds. The candidates scoring equal to or more than CMAT cutoff will only be shortlisted for the pre-admission procedures. Over 1000 institutes release their individual cutoff and follow their own selection process comprising of another written test somewhere, GD round then Personal Interview for selecting deserving candidates.
