THE MISCONCEPTION OF EDUCATION IN INDIA.

WHAT IS EDUCATION?

According to the basic definition,

education is “the process of facilitating learning, or the acquisition of knowledge, skills, values, beliefs, and habits”.

At present, education has coined a different definition. Education in India is all about doing well in the academics.

According to we Indians, a well educated person is one who secures the first grade all through his academic career.

The definition of education does not really apply to most of the educational systems in India. People are never concerned or bothered about gaining knowledge or wisdom.

The educational system in India has developed tremendously that there are different boards of educational systems such as STATE BOARD, CBSE, ICSE, IGSCE.

Each system differs from the other on the basis of the difficulty level. “The more difficult  the level of education is, the more learned you are” is the common conception of Indian parents.

Not just that. The more difficult the level of study is, the more expensive the fee is.

“The higher the fee is, the better the school is”. This is another conception of Indian parents.

I’ve seen parents who put their children in schools where the fee is higher than their own income. Parents take it a pride to say that their child’s school fee is really high. They take it a pride to say that their child secures first grade in all the subjects. They are never bothered if the child is truly knowledgeable.

“CHILDREN MUST BE TAUGHT HOW TO THINK AND NOT WHAT TO THINK”

“If you are not a doctor or an engineer, you are not a well educated person.”Another most wide conception in India. People fail to understand the value of the other fields of education. People demean the other fields of education such as arts and humanities.

Just like medicine and engineering play a vital role in the development of the country, arts and humanities also play a vital role by bringing in harmony and a sense of unification among the people. All fields of education should be given importance to bring a balance in the society. People should stop following the beaten track and create a path of their own.

“DON’T BE THE SECOND SOMEONE. BE THE FIRST YOU.”

MONEY IS EDUCATION….

EDUCATION IS MONEY….

If you want to study, all you need is money. The more rich you are, the more money you can afford to study. Schools and colleges at present give admissions to students who can afford to pay more irrespective of how talented they are. Educational institutions are concerned only about money. Even if you score very low in your board exams, you can still get into a reputed college if you have money.

Education has lost its real value. Education is no longer about learning and acquiring knowledge.

The quality of education no longer depends upon the knowledge provided.

If asked a question to a person as to why he gets educated, the honest reply should possibly be ‘TO EARN’.

But is education all about scoring high to earn high?

The answer would definitely be no.

DETERMINATION IS EVERYTHING:

I would like to make a mention about a legendary Indian who was, is, and will be the source of inspiration for people of all ages. DR.A.P.J. ABDUL KALAM, the ex-president of India was born into a lower-middle class Tamil family. He finished his schooling in a mediocre school and got graduated in reputed institutions. It was only through his determination that he succeed in both launching rockets and also in becoming the president of India. He proved the people that money is nothing and determination alone is enough to succeed.

Education is the very source of living. It shapes, builds and forms the so called socialized society.

True education should lead one to enlightenment. At present, education only leads a person to stress.

Education has become so much stressful that it has started leading to “SUICIDES”. The very source of living itself has started to become a source for death.

In order to be TRULY EDUCATED, Indians will have to remove the stereotypes they have tagged to education.

Education is not a competition to be won nor it is something to be learnt just from books. True education has to be experienced.

India will become a superpower only when her citizens are truly educated. Her citizens should have the knowledge that will lead them to enlightenment which in turn will lead to India’s enlightenment.

Instead of just focusing on securing high marks, we will have to focus on gaining knowledge and wisdom through education.

It is high time we change our misconceptions about education.

It is now time for us to change our thoughts and walk together towards gaining true knowledge and wisdom.

And in order to achieve this, we will have to fight against the unfair restrictions and norms laid by different religions and by different classes of the society.

Education has to be equal for all people irrespective of their backgrounds. Indians will have to work in unification in order to be a truly knowledgeable and wise country.

“THE EXCELLENCE OF EVERY STATE DEPENDS UPON THE EDUCATION OF ITS PEOPLE”

REFLECT.

                                                                                    SOLVE.

                                                                                      CREATE.

                                                                                           GROW.

THINK.
