Student Review: Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management

My College

Is MBA all about sitting inside four walls and gaining “Gyan” about communication skill, management and organisation skill?

No, not in Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management Mangalore,I can proudly say that it is my college which have been moulding me for upcoming challenges. I completed my under graduation from Karwar, but the level of competency which is required to shape myself for life ahead was not sufficient. It may be because we don’t get more academic exposure in city like Karwar.

After completion of my graduation at Karwar, I joined Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management. From the day I joined I felt this is the Institution I really needed to join and I am at right place.

There are huge number of MBA pass outs per year, but how many are actually well placed? I think only few. This is because lack of preparation, no specified goal, lack of training and so on. Keeping in mind about these threats our MBA faculties had already planned for us something unique and interesting during MBA course.

We had one week induction training programme by famous trainers like Abhijeth Karkera, Renjith Keshav, Mr. Ramani Venkat, Prof. Sushma V and many others. I started dreaming about my life after MBA due to their amazing sessions on “Communication Skill”, “Stress Management”, “Time Management”, “Personality Development” and many more, which had made great positive impact on my mind.

Our institution conduct a mega event at our campus every year called “Whiz Quiz”. This year they made us participate in a very professional manner which gave us lots of new experiences. I was selected as “Quiz Master” to conduct quiz at various degree colleges across Mangalore. On the day of grand finale I was part of evaluation team and escorting the chief guest. I thank our MBA department who give us such opportunities.

To improve our presentation skill Department of MBA arranged “Union Budget” presentation activity, were we must present before budget experts. I really had shower of knowledge by presenting union budget on “Agricultural sector”.

“Confidence comes from Discipline and Training” said Robert K. To put this into action, we students of first year MBA(Team of Six)trained students of class six and seven of Vamanjoor School on “Skill Development”. This activity helped me to understand about organising an event and managing issues. Likewise, not only me, each and every student at our institution is preparing themselves for their life ahead.

Last but not the least, I would like to share my experience which I felt after joining Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management, which I thought is very important to be known by all, i.e, “Opportunities are not limited, we make ourself limited from participating”. So, go on and grasp it whatever get as an opportunity and make yourself able to achieve your dream.
