What all should You have before applying for a Student VISA

To actualize your dream to study abroad, the first step is to get a student visa, or as some would say a ‘study permit.’ But, a complete visa application requires a lot of documents. The submission of visa application is a task in itself but becomes an ordeal if you don’t have a comprehensive list of all the documents required for a study permit. hence, before applying for a student visa, you need the following:

Academic Documents

Letter of Acceptance: Firstly, you must include the letter of acceptance from the university/college. The letter must confirm your offering of admission to an authorized college or university.

Fees Receipts: Secondly, you need to take care of the receipts. These receipts will belong to the tuition fee that you have paid to the college. Also, you must submit the receipt of the money transferred to the GIC account.

Scholarship Letter (if applicable): Thirdly, you must enclose a scholarship letter, if you have received any scholarship.

Statement of Purpose: You must also submit a statement of purpose that provides studying in the university/ college (where you have got admission) as your primary purpose for the visa. This may also include the reasons that explain your choice of this country and your future plans that are in line with your studies. This statement must also convince the immigration officer that you will leave the country after completion of education.

IELTS/ TOEFL/ PTE Test Report Form: Also, you would need to enclose a notarized copy of the English Language Proficiency test’s score, that you answered.

Academic Credentials: Finally, you must enclose the notarised copies of academic documents, belonging to tenth class onwards.

Financial Documents

Proof of financial support:  It must prove that you have enough to pay for your:

• Firstly, the tuition fee
• Secondly, your living expenses
• Finally, expenses to cover your return transportation

Health Documents

A medical report that verifies that you are in a good health and are not suffering from any communicable disease must be submitted.

Police Clearance Certificate

This document verifies that you are a law-abiding citizen and you have no criminal record.

A Valid Passport

Application Form

This form is available at the immigration websites of various countries.

Work Experience Certificates

If you have relevant work experience, you must submit these as well. These may include joining letter, experience certificate, relieving letter, etc.

Passport-size Photographs

The photographs must be with a white background.

Study Permit Fee

You must also pay the study permit fee and submit a copy of the receipt.

Most of the countries have a provision for visa application online. So, you don’t have to pay any courier fee. Also, the application assessment begins instantaneously. In order to apply online, you would need a scanner or camera to make electronic copies of your documents. You will also need a valid debit or credit card.
