A skeleton of a leave

To conduct the experiment, you will need:

• Large leaves
• Sodium carbonate
• A deep metal bowl
• Tweezers
• A brush
• Some water

Let’s start the experiment

1. Add 20 grams of sodium carbonate to the metal bowl. 20 grams is about ¼ of a tablespoon.
2. Pour 1.5 liters of water into a bowl. Dissolve sodium carbonate.
3. Heat the mixture on the stove.
4. When the liquid starts to boil, remove it from the fire.
5. Take the leaves and gently drop them into a bowl with a hot liquid.
6. Wait until the leaves absorb the mixture, it’s about 30 minutes.
7. At the end of the time, take each sheet carefully with tweezers out.
8. Gently wash the leaves with cool water.
9. Use a brush to gently remove the remains of the leaf from its skeleton.

The result

Let’s start the experiment

1. Cut a 2-liter bottle in two halves. We’ll only need the top of the bottle.
2. Cut a large square from a plastic bag. Do not worry that the edges are not even.
3. Put the bottle upside down on the table, place a square polyethylene on it and stick it with an elastic masking tape.
4. Cut off the extra edges of the package.
5. Place the straw in the balloon and fix it with tape so that it can be blown into the straw, and the air enters the balloon and the balloon is inflated.
6. Place the ball through the hole in the bottle and stick it with plasticine.
7. Fold a piece of a tape in half sticky sides to each other, leaving the ends open. Attach the tape to the plastic bag.
8. Use the tape that you just attached as a handle, pull it slightly down and watch the process.

The result
