Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) are considered institutions of national importance and are known for quality teaching, excellent infrastructure, and internationally-acclaimed research. The faculty and alumni of the IITs occupy key positions in academia and industry – in India and abroad, and their contributions to the society are widely recognized.

Through JEE (Advanced), students can seek admission in the 4-year B.Tech. (Bachelor of Technology) or B.S. (Bachelor of Science) courses, or 5-year B.Arch. (Bachelor of Architecture), Dual Degree B.Tech.-M.Tech., Dual Degree B.S.-M.S. courses offered by the participating institutes.
The courses offered by an institute will be announced at the time you fill-in your choices and preferences for admission for the purpose of seat allocation.

Eligibility Criteria for JEE (Advanced) 2018
To be able to appear for JEE (Advanced) 2018, candidates have to be on the list of top 2,24,000 candidates in Paper 1 of JEE (Main) 2018 (instead of the list of top 2,20,000 earlier). In case of ties, this number may vary slightly. Know the pros and cons of JEE (Advanced) online test 2018 before you appear for the actual test. Furthermore, candidates should keep the below in mind:
- Candidates should be born on or after October 1, 1993 (not more than 25 years old on October 1, 2018). A relaxation of five years will be given to the SC, ST and PwD candidates in the maximum age limit.
- Students will be allowed only two attempts in consecutive years to crack the JEE (Advanced).
- Only the candidates who have appeared for class XII (or an equivalent) exam in 2017 or 2018 can write the exam. Students whose class XII board exam results were declared after June 2016 are allowed to sit for the exam too.
- Students who had accepted an IIT seat earlier or whose admission was canceled after joining an IIT cannot write JEE (Advanced) this year.
- Candidates must also have at least 75% aggregate marks in Class XII (65% for the reserved category students) or must be in the Top 20 percentile of their respective education board.
